The CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL
PLANNER™ and certification marks are the most recognized
financial planning marks in the world.
The government does not regulate financial planners as
“financial planners”. Planners and advisors are regulated as
stock brokers, registered representatives, insurance agents
or investment advisers, depending on the services they
provide. As a result anyone can call himself or herself a
"financial planner" with little or no education or
experience.
Only a select group of planners have met the rigorous
education, examination, experience and ethics requirements
necessary to call themselves a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™
professional.
CFP® practitioners are dedicated to helping individuals,
families and businesses solve problems and achieve financial
goals by putting clients' interests first.
